Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging (MBIB) Division Director Paul Adams has announced a number of changes in the Division leadership, effective October 1. Earlier this summer, Corie Ralston agreed to serve as the Interim Director of the Molecular Foundry’s Biological Nanostructures Facility. She will step down as MBIB Division Deputy and remain as the Head of the Berkeley Center for Structural Biology (BCSB) at the Advanced Light Source (ALS). Junko Yano will assume the role of Interim Division Deputy in addition to continuing as the Department Head of Bioenergetics during the search for a new Deputy. Marc Allaire will assume the position of Deputy Head of the BCSB.
Jamie Cate, who has recently accepted the role of Faculty Director of the new Stem Scholars Program at UC Berkeley (SSP@B), will be stepping down as Head of the Structural Biology Department. Greg Hura will take on this position.
Paul acknowledged the more than three years of excellent service both Corie and Jamie gave to the Division leadership and wished them well in their new endeavors. He extended his thanks to both Junko and Greg for stepping into these new roles within MBIB and expressed gratitude for their support of the Division.
