Vittal K. Yachandra
Chemist Senior Scientist
Research Interests
Natural and Artificial Photosynthetic water oxidation, and metalloenzymes – the structure and mechanism of the catalytic complexes studied by biophysical techniques – X-ray spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy – the use of femtosecond X-ray laser facilities to study the time-evolution of the catalytic reactions – with the goal of applying the principles learned from Nature to create/study bio-inspired systems.
