Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging (MBIB) Division Director Paul Adams has announced a number of changes in the Division leadership, effective July 21.
Senior scientist Junko Yano has been named the new Division Deputy for Science. She has been serving in that capacity on an interim basis since last fall when previous Deputy Corie Ralston stepped down.
Staff scientist Jan Kern will assume the role of Department Head of Bioenergetics, which Junko had been continuing to fulfill during the search for a new Deputy.
Faculty scientist Carolyn Larabell will step into the position of Department Head of Cellular and Tissue Imaging vacated by previous Department Head Manfred Auer’s retirement.
Adams acknowledged Auer’s excellent service (four years as Department Head and 16 years at the Lab) and wished him well in his new scientific endeavors. He also extended his thanks to Yano, Kern, and Larabell for taking on these new roles within MBIB and expressed gratitude for their support of the Division
