As Biosciences ALD Mary Maxon announced last week, Nikki Humphreys has accepted an offer to become the Biosciences Area Deputy of Operations. In addition to overseeing operations and finance for the Area, she will serve as the Deputy for Operations of the Biosciences Operations at Berkeley Center, and the Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging (MBIB) and Environmental Genomics and Systems Biology (EGSB) Divisions.
“Nikki’s demonstrated strengths in financial management, strategic planning, and personnel administration make her well suited for this integral position,” Maxon noted.
Humphreys has worked in the UC System for many years, gathering a wealth of experience and honing her analytical, communication, planning, and project management skills. Most recently, she was the Director of Administration for the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley. She also has a strong track record in management, having twice received the Berkeley Staff Assembly Excellence in Management Award, as well as has significant experience working directly with researchers.
Humphreys will attend the Biosciences Annual Meeting as as an honored guest in advance of her official start date on September 6. Please say hello!
