Our scientists and engineers are focused on bridging the gap between lab-scale research and the commercial deployment of efficient and cost-effective biomanufacturing processes for a variety of fuels, chemicals, proteins, oils, nucleic acids, and bio-based materials such as plastics and fibers. They use models to understand the key success factors and risks for each type of bioproduct in both a technical sense and from a process economics viewpoint.

Tanjore is the Director of the Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Process Development Unit and interfaces with scientists from industry, academia, and start-ups to resolve scale-up challenges for their synthetic biology–based technologies.
