Biodesign Department researchers apply their skills and knowledge to the pursuit of basic science discovery and technology development enabling the biomanufacture of fuels, chemicals, and materials. The Biodesign department has expertise in Metabolic Pathway Refactoring and Optimization, Biosensor Development and Biological Parts Characterization, Sub-cellular Spatial Control Systems, Microbial Communities and Host Onboarding, and Biological Computer-Aided Design and Manufacture.
