Biochemist Jennifer Doudna, a faculty scientist in the Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging (MBIB) Division, was among the 2026 class of Fellows named by the American Chemical Society (ACS). Established in 2008, the Fellows Program recognizes society members who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and made substantial contributions to science, the chemical profession, and the ACS. Doudna, who shared the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the development of the CRISPR gene-editing method, is also a professor at UC Berkeley and founder of the Innovative Genomics Institute. New Fellows will be recognized and celebrated during a ceremony and reception at the ACS Fall 2026 meeting in Chicago, IL.
