In a virtual ceremony on January 24, Associate Laboratory Director for Biosciences Paul Adams and Jay Keasling, Biological Systems and Engineering senior faculty scientist, were among several Lab staff who received the Department of Energy’s (DOE) highest form of employee recognition for excellence and achievements.
Adams and Keasling, who is also CEO of the Joint BioEnergy Institute, were part of a group from Berkeley Lab that received the annual Energy Secretary’s Achievement Award for their work on the Driving U.S. Competitiveness and Innovations Team. The two were involved in introducing topics and facilitating virtual discussions to highlight the world-leading capabilities of the DOE national laboratories and their history of innovation and close partnerships with U.S. companies and industries.
The Energy Secretary’s Achievement Award is given to groups of employees and contractors who together accomplished significant achievements on behalf of DOE.
