Four Biosciences employees were selected by Berkeley Lab leadership and the Women Scientists and Engineers Council (WSEC) for recognition as part of the 2020 Women @ the Lab awards. The biennial program, now in its fourth year, spotlights women at the Lab for meritorious professional contributions, leadership, mentorship, and outreach.
Carolina Araujo Barcelos (left), a scientific engineering associate at the Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Process Development Unit (ABPDU), and Ruchira Chatterjee (right), a staff research associate in Molecular Biology and Integrated Bioimaging (MBIB), were honored in the Technical category. Diane Dickel (left), head of the Comparative and Functional Genomics department in Environmental Genomics and Systems Biology (EGSB), was honored in the Mid-Career Science category. And Junko Yano (right), MBIB Science Deputy and leader of the Photodynamics team in the Liquid Sunlight Alliance, was honored in the Senior Career Science category. The awards were presented in a virtual ceremony on March 30.
