The Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Process Development Unit (ABPDU) hosted an Industry Listening Day on Oct. 28th in Emeryville, CA. Twenty four companies participated in the event and provided valuable feedback.
This event gave ABPDU the unique opportunity to generate a thorough understanding of industry-wide issues. This feedback will guide ABPDU in further supporting the biomanufacturing community and the greater bioeconomy.
Mark Shmorhun, Technology Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO), attended the event and discussed opportunities for industry to work with BETO.
Attendees shared feedback on how BETO and ABPDU can support process research and development, and provide the necessary infrastructure to industrial collaborators.
“While we are always open to feedback from our individual collaborators, this was our first attempt at discussing issues as a community and identifying thoughts that resonated with many,” said Deepti Tanjore, Director of ABPDU. “We are very grateful to the donation of time from the companies that made this event a success. We look forward to incorporating the feedback and furthering our collaborations.”
