The organizing committee also arranges speaking engagements for scientific leaders who demonstrate many pathways to success.

SOAR teaches, coaches, and counsels our young people in academics, life skills, leadership, emotional intelligence, and career development. Jon Cardoza, an intern, worked under the mentorship of MBIB’s Paul Adams and Corie Ralston.

Sayan Gupta and Corie Ralston led a tour of the Advanced Light Source (ALS) for a group of engineering students from Sonoma State University (SSU) and their professor, Farid Farahmond, who is interested in collaborating with scientists at Berkeley Lab on instrumentation projects as part of the Visiting Faculty Program (VFP). SSU is a federally designated Hispanic-serving Institution.
