John Lawrence Seminars
The lectures are supported by an endowment created by generous gifts from patients and family of John H. Lawrence, the “Father of Nuclear Medicine” (pictured in 1955) and brother of Nobel Laureate and Berkeley Lab founder Ernest O. Lawrence. Speakers represent a broad range of bioscience research and are nominated and hosted by Area scientists.

Biosciences Understanding Science Seminars (BUSS)
Scientific breakthroughs can’t happen without both scientists and those in STEM supporting roles. Learning about the science we in the Biosciences Area all help to advance—as well as its societal impacts—can be energizing and fulfilling and lead to greater investment and satisfaction in the work that we do. In this quarterly series, Area researchers talk about their professional journeys and current scientific topics of interest in general terms.

Scientists on Health Seminars
This is a seminar series for everyone! The invited speakers are scientists who study various facets of health; they will talk about the most interesting aspects of their field and their research in a way that is accessible to non-scientists. Talks will be 25–30 minutes long to allow more time for questions. The seminars will be held in person and livestreamed online.
