Six Biosciences employees have been selected by the Women Scientists and Engineers Council (WSEC) and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Office for recognition as part of the third Women @ The Lab awards. The program spotlights women at the Lab who demonstrate dedication, talent, STEM contributions, and commitment to the Lab’s mission. Alicia Clum (right, top), Genome Assembly and Analysis group lead at the DOE Joint Genome Institute (JGI), and Danielle Goudeau (right, bottom), a scientific engineering associate at JGI, were honored in the Technical category. Caroline Ajo-Franklin (left, top), a staff scientist at the Molecular Foundry who holds a secondary appointment in Molecular Biology and Integrated Bioimaging (MBIB), and Romy Chakraborty (left, bottom), a research scientist in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Area who holds a secondary appointment in Environmental Genomics and Systems Biology (EGSB) were honored in the Mid-Career Science category. Anne Berry (right, top), a postdoctoral fellow in MBIB, was honored in the Early-Career Science category, and Associate Lab Director for Biosciences Mary Maxon (right, bottom) was honored in the Operations/Administration category. The awards will be presented at a ceremony—to which all employees are invited—on July 9 starting at 3:00 PM in the B50 auditorium.
